Arthritis Action Returns to the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival 3 July 2025 We are thrilled to return once again to the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival this year, with two specially designed gardens highlighting the benefits of gardening for arthritis. Arthritis Action’s CEO Shantel Irwin joined Trustee Colin Beevor and the hard-working team of volunteers from the Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust MSK Outpatient Services to open the event. The team have again worked tirelessly, this year expanding their creations into two separate gardens plots. You can find us at our main garden “No time for Pain” and a second garden “Hydrotherapy & Water Exercises for Pain”. Colin explained the concept of the gardens. “Our main garden “No Time for Pain” explores how allotments can become a sanctuary and place in which those with arthritis can put the pain they experience to one side. The second garden “Hydrotherapy & Water Exercises for Pain” highlights the benefits of aquatic therapy for those with arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders. The low-impact nature of water-based therapy provides a lifeline for those who find physical activity too strenuous.” RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival is on now till 6 July, if visiting you can find us in the South Side Allotment Gardens. We would like to thank our Trustee Colin Beevor and the brilliant team of volunteers at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, who have worked so hard to make this happen, nurturing the plants, creating an arthritis-friendly garden and securing the spot at this prestigious event.
