Primarily a resource for Cornish residents to get involved in physical activities, Active Cornwall are committed to helping people enjoy and benefit from an active lifestyle. They work to improve understanding of what people in Cornwall need to become more active, helping to support and connect people to organisations to make accessing activities and maintaining an active lifestyle more accessible. The website aims to provide the right steppingstones towards a healthier, happier, and more active lifestyle for everyone in Cornwall, whatever their starting point. The Live Longer Better programme, for example, offers a wealth of advice and information for the over 55’s on health, wellbeing, physically activity as well as how to help manage long-term health conditions with the aim of reducing disability, dementia, and frailty. Age UK Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

Age UK Cornwall are an independent local charity that supports people in Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and South Devon. They have been working within local communities to help older people for over 50 years. They provide a wide range of services, support and activities delivered across three Day Centres located in Falmouth, Newquay and St Austell which include falls prevention and several different exercises classes. They aim to inspire individuals and communities to Age Well in Later Life. Eden Project

Nature’s Way is the Eden Project’s social prescribing programme, providing opportunities for people to connect to nature and each other to improve health and wellbeing. Regular activities include weekly walking groups, horticulture therapy and courses which use arts and creativity to encourage people to notice and connect with nature.

Ramblers Wellbeing Walks Cornwall

Ramblers Wellbeing Walks

A walking scheme coordinated by St Austell healthcare, who work with the local community and voluntary groups to set up new walks to encourage local people to get active as well as stay active. It’s a great way to improve your health, help manage health conditions and is suitable for all ages and with varying levels of fitness. With no need pre-register, simply turn up at the starting point fifteen minutes before the start time and introduce yourself to the walk leader. Just make sure you wear sturdy, comfortable footwear.
