Ramblers Wellbeing Walks

Walking is the lowest risk of all physical activities, yet produces massive benefits to physical fitness and mental wellbeing. It is a great way to explore your local area, make new friends and learn more about your immediate community. East Devon Walk This Way currently has 5 Walk this Way Groups (Exmouth, Sid Valley, Axe Valley, Seaton, Colyton & Summer Progression) all led by friendly, fully trained, Volunteer Walk Leaders who always ensuring a warm welcome to all new walkers. All walks are free and with no pre-booking required, simply arrive 15 minutes before the start time to complete a registration form. Ensure comfortable shoes, loose fitting clothing and waterproofs are worn if wet.

Brixham Bay Walks

Ramblers Wellbeing Walks

Run by a group of local volunteers, Brixham Bay Walks currently offers a weekly walk whereby the route takes in some of the best views in the area. Led by a trained volunteer walk leader, the walk is free to attend and is a great way to get more active as well as meet new people. Everyone is always made to feel welcome and of course the walk ends with refreshments. Walking boots are recommended as the coastal path can be muddy. LED GP Referral Scheme

The aim of this scheme is to increase physical activity, improve mental wellbeing as well as better manage living with a medical condition which can often make keeping active challenging. The Exercise Referral Scheme is a personalised 12-week programme offering discounted indoor and outdoor activities to slowly build up movement and encourage healthier lifestyle choices. The scheme is available at all LED Community Leisure Centres. If you would like to give it a go, ask your GP, consultant or nurse for a referral form. You can also complete an enquiry form via the LED Community Leisure website.

There are also different grades of walks to choose from, so there is always a walk to suit everyone and they are led by friendly, fully trained Volunteer Walk Leaders. When attending your first walk, please arrive 10 minutes before the start time to complete a one off registration form. Ensure comfortable shoes, loose fitting clothing and waterproofs are worn if wet. Do also bring some money if you wish to stop for refreshments afterwards. free 12-week Joint Pain Programme embracing the idea that physical activity can manage and prevent joint pain issues. Designed by experts in physical and mental health combining education, physical activity and emotional wellbeing support. And it works… People completing the programme report a significant improvement in symptoms, an improvement in quality of life and feel better able to manage in the long term. In addition to expert advice and hands-on instruction, the programme is delivered in the Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centres across the UK in groups of up to ten people, creating a support network and helping you to achieve your goals as a team. You will receive free complete access to all facilities at the Fitness and Wellbeing Centre during the duration of the programme and a significantly discounted full membership after.
