Age UK Devon

A not-for-profit independent charity, working to improving the lives of older people living within the county of Devon. Affiliated with the Age UK network (one of over 130) they encourage older people to love later life through delivering services that provide and enable independence, support and social interaction. In particular, they offer a variety of physical activities to keep older people moving, fit and healthy. These include Seated Vitality, Walking Football, Body Moves and Fit as a Fish social swims among others. Part of Mid Devon Walk and Talk routes, Blackdown Walk & Talk offer regular weekly walks led by fully trained, volunteer walk leaders. All walks are free and newcomers are always welcome. Brixham Bay Walks

Walking for Health

Run by a group of local volunteers, Brixham Bay Walks currently offers two weekly walks whereby routes take in some of the best view in the area. Led by trained volunteer walk leaders, all walks are free to attend and is a great way to get more active as well as meet new people. Everyone is always made to feel welcome and of course each walk ends with refreshments. Walking boots are recommended as the coastal path can be muddy. East Devon Walk This Way currently has 5 Walk this Way Groups (Exmouth, Sid Valley, Axe Valley, Seaton, Colyton & Summer Progression) all led by friendly, fully trained, Volunteer Walk Leaders who always ensuring a warm welcome to all new walkers. All walks are free and with no pre-booking required, simply arrive 15 minutes before the start time to complete a registration form. Exeter Stepping Out

Walking is the lowest risk of all physical activities, yet produces massive benefits to physical fitness and mental wellbeing. It is a great way to explore local areas, make new friends as well as learn more about your immediate community. Exeter Stepping Out have walks that take part everyday of the week (except Sundays), in around the picturesque city of Exeter. Led by friendly and fully trained Volunteer Walk Leaders there are three different grades of walks to choose from, so there is always a walk to suit everyone. All walks are free to attend, but refreshment are usually brought at the end of the walk. When attending your first walk, please arrive 10 minutes before the start time to complete a one off registration form. Holsworthy Walk and Talk

Offering a wide range of walks in the Holsworthy area, all routes are carefully chosen and risk assessed to ensure walkers have a choice of routes to match abilities and levels of fitness. Varied routes give walkers the chance to visit different parts of the local area (approximately 20 routes now available on a Friday) but please note, some routes are only suitable during the summer months whilst others can be walked all year round.
