Supporting strategic leaders with high quality advice and advocacy, Active Dorset aims to establish Dorset as a place where people choose to enjoy an active lifestyle through participation in sport and physical activity to transform lives. A wide range of programmes are already running throughout the county which aim to increase participation and support is offered to help the work of clubs, coaches, volunteers, educators and facilities. Within the ‘Move More’ tab there is an Activity Finder, information to support ‘Your Health and Wellbeing’ and also many ideas and resources to support you to move more in a way that works for you in the ‘Support Being Active’ section.

The aim of this scheme is to increase physical activity levels, improve physical and mental wellbeing as well as better manage living with a medical condition which can often make keeping active challenging. The Exercise Referral Scheme is a personalised 12-week programme offering discounted indoor and outdoor activities to help support individuals to slowly build up their movement and encourages simple, healthier lifestyle choices. The scheme is available at the Litteldown Centre, Pelhams, Corfe Mullen and Stokewood Bhliveactive sites. If you’d like to give it a go, ask your GP, Consultant or nurse for a referral form.
