free 12-week Joint Pain Programme embracing the idea that physical activity can manage and prevent joint pain issues. Designed by experts in physical and mental health combining education, physical activity and emotional wellbeing support. And it works… People completing the programme report a significant improvement in symptoms, an improvement in quality of life and feel better able to manage in the long term. In addition to expert advice and hands-on instruction, the programme is delivered in the Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centres across the UK in groups of up to ten people, creating a support network and helping you to achieve your goals as a team. You will receive free complete access to all facilities at the Fitness and Wellbeing Centre during the duration of the programme and a significantly discounted full membership after. Ramblers Wellbeing Walks

Started by Bury Sport & Physical Activity Service to provide a variety of led walking opportunities throughout the Townships of Bury, Bury Walk with Me has now established weekly walks in Summerseat, Greenmount, Prestwich, Radcliffe, Chesham Woods, Burrs Country Park, Ainsworth and Birtle. These provide 10 weekly walk options to the communities of Bury and cater for a variety of fitness levels, ranging from shorter 30-minute walks to longer walks lasting up to 90-minutes in duration. So, whether you’re a complete beginner wanting to get more active, or simply feel that you would benefit from walking in a group environment with like-minded individuals, weekly wellbeing walks maybe just what you’ve been looking for. Bury Council

The Bury Live Well service comprises of 2 teams – the health trainer team and the exercise referral team.  The Health Trainer team will support residents of Bury to make healthier lifestyle choices, by improving their diet, smoking cessation, and reducing alcohol.  They also provide breast feeding support.  The exercise referral team support those with long term health to improve their quality of life through education on prescriptive exercise and behaviour change.

Salford Wellbeing Walks

Walking for Health

Salford Wellbeing Walks are designed to help people become more physically active as well as improve overall health and wellbeing. All walks are local, free and up to an hour in length with some walks offering a 30 minute shorter walk. They offer a safe, relaxed and sociable environment and are aimed to help people meet the 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise each week. Co-ordinated by Salford Community Leisure, they form part of the Ramblers Walking for Health national programme and are all led by trained volunteers.

Ramblers Wellbeing Walks

Organised and run by local Volunteers, in partnership with Ramblers Wellbeing Walks, Trafford CCG, Public Health Trafford and Sale Sports Club, Ramblers Wellbeing Walks Trafford offer free, organised walks across Trafford, designed for everyone of any age to join in. Walks range from 45 – 90 minutes and are suitable for beginners, those wanting to start walking or others keen to improve fitness. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, discover open spaces in the local area and above all keep active. All walks are led by a trained Volunteer Walk Leaders, who make everyone feel welcome and will discuss any individual needs at the start of a walk and plan support as required. Almost all the walks have a comfortable social base to enjoy refreshments once a route has been completed. There is no booking required, just turn up on the day (with comfortable shoes) and enjoy yourself.
