Blackpool Steps to Health

Walking for Health

Improving community health and well- being through walking, the Blackpool Steps to Health scheme aims to encourage local residents to leave the sofa, stretch their legs, get some fresh air as well as meet new people. The programme wants to increase the amount of physical activity for local people who wouldn’t normally exercise and to assist with the challenge of meeting the recommended 150 minutes of moderate physical activity a week. All walks are guided, range from 30 – 60 minutes in duration and routes planned to incorporate beautiful locations such as Stanley Park, Herons Reach, Martin Mere, and the Promenade.
