Ramblers Wellbeing Walks

Free, guided, gentle walks encouraging local people to incorporate regular exercise of between 30-90 minutes as part of their lifestyle. Walks are open to all and offer a great opportunity to get outdoors, get active as well as meet new people. Ramblers Wellbeing Walks

Free volunteer led Wellbeing Walks encouraging local people to get outdoors, become active and meet new people. Hambleton Strollers especially encourages those who do not feel they are quick enough or strong enough to walk in a regular walking group, those returning to walking after illness or a period of inactivity as well as those with health conditions who would benefit from moderate exercise.  All walks last about 60 minutes, but there are 30-minute starter walk options available as part of the 60-minute walks. Part of Age UK North Yorkshire and Darington, Age UK Northallerton helps older individuals in the local community and the surrounding areas to enjoy later life. They encourage independence and social inclusion by offering a range of services and activities to help individuals stay fit and healthy. During COVID-19 sadly their face-to-face groups had to take a break but these are now on their way to being re-started once again. From free information and advice, to social support groups and exercise classes such as Tap Dancing and Gentle Exercises to Music. Nuffield Health

free 12-week Joint Pain Programme embracing the idea that physical activity can manage and prevent joint pain issues. Designed by experts in physical and mental health combining education, physical activity and emotional wellbeing support. And it works… People completing the programme report a significant improvement in symptoms, an improvement in quality of life and feel better able to manage in the long term. In addition to expert advice and hands-on instruction, the programme is delivered in the Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centres across the UK in groups of up to ten people, creating a support network and helping you to achieve your goals as a team. You will receive free complete access to all facilities at the Fitness and Wellbeing Centre during the duration of the programme and a significantly discounted full membership after. Ramblers Wellbeing Walk

A variety of walks are offered across Redcar & Cleveland to suit all needs and abilities. From short leisurely strolls to longer challenging routes and anything in-between, all walks are friendly, welcoming and offer an opportunity to explore the outdoors, discover new places and meet new people. All walks are supported by a trained Walk Leader and last between 30 – 90 minutees depending on the group and wiht no need to book, simply turn up (with a comfortable pair of shoes) on the day to join in.
