Activities include Short Mat Bowls, seated chair exercise and Nordic Walking among others. East Northamptonshire Council Active Communities

Walking for Health

Part of the Active Communities Programme, the Walking for Health Scheme aims to help people become more active, more often throughout East Northamptonshire. They provide a variety of friendly and inclusive walks that are free to join and easily accessible for all ages, abilities and fitness levels. All walks run weekly  and are led by Volunteer Health Walk Leaders. With no need to book in advance, simply turn up on the day (wearing a comfortable pair of shoes!) and join in! A full list of walks are available to view and/or download online and direct contact can be made with the Scheme Coordinators for further details and/or any specific concerns.

Active Partnership

One of 43 Active Partnerships across England, Northamptonshire Sport is a partnership of local and national organisations working together to get people in Northamptonshire More Active, More Often. Funded through Sport England Lottery grant and by local and national partners, Northamptonshire Sport offers a variety of programmes encouraging people to get active by successfully introducing exercise into everyday life.

South Northants Health Walks

Walking for Health

Offering a variety of health walks across the South Northants district, all walks are graded depending on ability and fitness levels and are led by a trained Volunteer Walk Leaders. With one at the front and one at the back of the walking group, they ensure no one gets left behind. Walks are always friendly, welcoming and offer a great opportunity to explore the outdoors, discover new places and meet new people. All walks are COVID-secure and follow the current government guidelines for outdoor fitness and social distancing. A full timetable of walks can be viewed on the website but please contact the scheme coordinator to check whether the walk you are interested in is going ahead.
