North Shropshire Walking for Health

Walking for Health

Free, Volunteer led health walks running across the North Shropshire County, encouraging local people to get outdoors, get active as well as meet new people. Walking is a low risk activity, ideal for increasing physical activity levels and a great way to explore the outdoors. Routes are organised through picturesque market towns and villages where there is always something interesting to see, or through the rural countryside. With no pre booking required, simply turn up 10 minutes before the start time to meet the Volunteer walk leader and complete a registration form. All you will need to get started is a comfortable pair of flat shoes with a good grip. Many people just like to come for a short, slow paced walk, but are always pleased at how much easier it gets each week. People who come on our walks like to have a chat and look forward to a drink afterwards. Severn Strollers – Walks in South East Shropshire

Part of the National Walking for Health imitative, Severn Strollers has a variety of walks across South East Shropshire. All walks are free, low risk and guided by Volunteer Walk Leaders and are graded from 1-3 according to ability and fitness levels, so there really is a walk for everyone! With no pre booking required, simply turn up 10 minutes before the start time to meet the Volunteer walk leader and complete a registration form. Walking in a group is an ideal way to start a low risk, low impact physical activity as well as enjoy the outdoors and meet new people. All walking routes are graded to suit various abilities and fitness levels and range from 30 – 90 minutes in duration. New walkers are always very welcome and with no pre booking required, simply turn up 10 minutes before the start time to meet the Volunteer walk leader and complete the registration form.
