Active Partnership

One of the 43 Active Partnerships across England, Active Sussex is a registered charitable trust aiming to increase participation in sport and physical activity throughout the county. Working collaboratively with local partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors they contribute to the government’s agenda to increase the number of people participating in sport and physical activity nationally. Predominantly funded by Sport England, Active Sussex offers an array of programmes encouraging people to get active and stay healthy. Chichester: HeartSmart Walks

Walking for Health

Free, fun and full of local beauty, Chichester HeartSmart Walks are carefully designed for all ages, abilities and fitness levels to participate. All walks are led by Volunteer Walk Leaders and offer opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, increase fitness levels through gentle exercise as well as meet new people in a safe and friendly environment. Mid Sussex Healthy Walks

Walking for Health

Offer a free programme of health walks designed to help local people get fit, explore new areas of the Mid Sussex countryside as well as meet like-minded people in a safe and supportive environment. Walks are suitable for people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels and are especially aimed at those who are inactive or do little physical activity. All walks are graded from Levels 1-3 (Walking for Health Accredited walks) through to levels 4-5 (Mid Sussex District Council walks) so there really is a walk for everyone. There’s no need to book, simply turn up (with a comfortable pair of shoes) on the day to join in. A full timetable of walks can be viewed online or direct contact can be made with the Park Rangers for further details and/or specific concerns.
