‘Ask How I Am’ Report on Mental Health For Long-Term Conditions

17 June 2021

Arthritis Action is a proud partner of the National Voices and the Centre for Mental Health’s ‘Ask How I Am’ report(opens pdf), which aims to support emotional health among people living with long-term conditions, with support from a range of charities including Arthritis Action, Mind, British Heart Foundation, Macmillan Cancer Support, Diabetes UK, Dementia Change Action Network, Independent Age, and Impact on Urban Health.

The report highlights the impact of long-term conditions on everyday life, work and relationships, and can offer insight into what support is effective and what can be improved, to help more people manage their emotional and mental wellbeing. The ‘Ask How I Am’ report offers 10 recommendations for system leaders and designers to make these conversations possible, including ‘Top Tips’ for practitioners to enable compassionate conversations (opens pdf).
