We have launched a new video, Arthritis and Benefits as part of our drive to increase support for people with arthritis during the current cost-of-living crisis. Featuring Dr Wendy Holden, Medical Advisor & Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist, the video clearly sets out the benefits that people with arthritis could be entitled to receive. It was produced in response to growing concerns from our Members about the difficult financial situations they find themselves in, and the fact that the Disability Benefits area of the Arthritis Action website is consistently our most visited.
Our CEO, Shantel Irwin said: “Arthritis can be debilitatingly painful, often severely impacting a person’s mobility and in turn, their ability to work as much as they would like, if at all. Alongside this, issues such as soaring energy costs can mean that people with joint pain, which often gets worse when it’s cold, are finding themselves in significantly more pain, as they can no longer heat their homes properly. With the cost-of-living crisis, it’s vital that people understand the benefits they are entitled to receive and how to apply for them.”
