Exercise and Activity Directory - Arthritis Action

We believe that physical activity, in an enjoyable community setting, should be achievable for everyone. Our Exercise and Activity Directory aims to help people with arthritis or mobility issues find information about exercise sessions and activities in their area.

We always advise contacting anyone listed before your visit to check whether the class or activity is right for you. If in doubt about whether a new activity is right for you and your arthritis, always consult with you GP before beginning.

Please check in advance with providers in case they have made changes to their listed activities and services.

If you’re currently not very active and are looking for a simple way to exercise from home, you can try our chair-based exercises as a starting point to improve your mobility.

You can also learn more about the importance of exercise if you live with arthritis by visiting our Exercise and Arthritis page.

Free Virtual Exercise Classes

Arthritis Action has brought together a directory of activity providers that are now offering free video exercise classes online, to help you find ways to remain active, particularly if you are shielding, or remaining indoors during self-isolation.

Counties

Arthritis Action has joined up with Good Boost, ukactive, Orthopaedic Research UK, ESCAPE-pain to create a health and fitness group that will research and pilot a project called the UKRI Leisure Centre Project.

Together we are working with staff at leisure centres and swimming pools to support people living with arthritis and musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and transform these centres into local community MSK hubs. Find out more about what the project offers and where it is available by clicking the button below.
